So, if you are like me, you are looking for the perfect case to protect your new iPhone 6. Not surprisingly, it is a bit difficult at this point, as availability is limited. In my experience, the store with the greatest selection of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus cases is Best Buy, followed by AT&T Wireless. Target has a few styles available, but their inventory in local stores is low. T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint stores also carry some iPhone 6 cases, but in my experience the selection is not so great.
So how to get a good deal on a case if you want to buy it locally? You could try to find a better price online on a case that is available locally and then price match it–this tends to work quite well at most times, but right now, the prices for many phone cases are the same online and in store. This is a big problem for shopping at Best Buy, as they rarely have coupons and price-matching is usually the only way to get a decent discount. Some retailers, such as AT&T Wireless, allow you to shop online and pick up your purchase in store…and AT&T Wireless frequently has 20% off coupons that are applicable to its online store. You can’t use them in the brick and mortar stores, but if you order online and use the coupon for in store pickup, it works quite well. Just search online for ‘AT&T Wireless accessory coupon’ and you can usually find something. AT&T Wireless carries the Speck Candyshell Grip, which is one of my current case favorites for the iPhone 6. T-Mobile online also usually has coupons for accessory purchases (ACCOFFER18 is good for 30% off), but you cannot do in store pickup, and shipping is $5.99. Very irritating. You can, however, frequently convince T-Mobile store employees to allow you to use the online discount in-store if you are sufficiently persuasive. A nice case that T-Mobile carries is the Tech21 Impact Check. I had that case on my iPhone 5 and it was a big favorite of mine. The iPhone 6 version also seems excellent. It is a bit pricy at $34.99, but if you can get 30% off, it doesn’t seem so bad.
I haven’t seen any iPhone 6 cases in any local Staples or OfficeMax locations yet, but you can find a few models online and both stores offer a free ship-to-store option. A decently protective case for iPhone 6 that I just noticed at Staples.com is the PureGear DualTek Extreme Shock Case. It gets pretty good reviews at iLounge and Staples has it for only $15.99. I haven’t seen the case in person, but it doesn’t sound bad.
Hope this helps! Good luck with your case search!
