The Verus Dandy Layered Diary Wallet Case is a surprisingly nice wallet case. Verus has really outdone itself with this case, in all ways but one.
What’s great about it?
* Closure: the magnetic closure flap is very strong and works extremely well, even when the wallet is full of cards.
* Fit: the case fits firmly, but is reasonably easy to get on and off.
* Appearance: the wine red version that Verus sent me is really attractive, and the black accents set it off nicely. The stitching looks great and the Verus branding on the front looks quite nice.
What’s not so great?
* Material: the case is not real leather. It is perhaps some sort of PU leather or other faux leather, but it doesn’t really match what I think of as real leather.
*Lack of grip: The PU leather material that the case is made of is very slippery, making it rather slick to hold.
Overall, I still really like this case and think it is a step up from the first wallet case Verus sent me—the Verus Dandy Klop Wallet case. Despite having the same stated wallet capacity of three cards and a cash pocket, the Dandy Layered Wallet Case holds its cards and cash with less strain than the Dandy Klop Wallet Case, and I believe its magnetic closure works better. The only way in which Dandy Klop beats the Dandy Layered is that it has a stand functionality. So, Verus, if you are listening: if you can make the Dandy Layered Diary out of real leather and give it a stand functionality, you will have the perfect wallet case. The challenge has been issued!
The Verus Dandy Layered Diary can be purchased from Amazon for $23.21, at current pricing, and is quite a good deal for such a nice case:
